Marine Specialties was retained by the installation contractor’s insurance company to assist in the defense of a general liability and manufacturer’s defect lawsuit concerning the design, manufacturing and installation of a 438 slip marina and floating breakwater system with a potential claim value of $16 million.  Marine Specialties provided expert witness coordination, installation inspection, underwater survey of floating dock and chain mooring system, product manufacturer’s specification review and compliance certification of the floating dock and mooring systems. The expert witness services also included reviewing wind and wave design criteria, analyzing wave attenuation, assessing biological impacts, and evaluating chain mooring and anchorage systems, electrical and manufacturing components, and installation and construction methods. 

Marine Specialties was able to confirm compliance with design, manufacturing and installation specifications and practices which resulted in a favorable outcome.
